I am Patrick Morris, Atty. At Law and Certified Divorce Mediator. Having recently retired from litigating divorce matters in Court, I am now devoting my practice solely to divorce mediation. It is not a sideline for me. It is the only thing I do.

If you find yourself in the unfortunate situation of needing a divorce, I urge you to read on and consider divorce mediation.

Divorce mediation is the modern, civilized, amicable way to achieve a divorce. It is the sensible alternative to hiring lawyers to fight in Court.  Many people in your situation do not understand what divorce mediation is, and how it works. It is really quite straightforward and simple.  The process involves both spouses sitting at a table with me, and my job is to guide and assist you to achieve a fair outcome to your divorce.  I give you legal information on all issues relating to a divorce, and then you and your spouse discuss and decide that issue. If you have trouble deciding, I assist.

I’ll give you an example. An issue in most divorces is how do you divide the assets that you own- your house for example. I will first explain to you the law on that particular issue, and give you some ideas on how you might resolve it. Then I turn the discussion over to you both and you will decide that particular issue. When all issues are resolved, your mediation is complete.

My office offers the following: a free consultation with no obligation to meet me to decide if you think I can help you mediate your divorce. Ask all of the questions you want. If you want to proceed we schedule the first meeting. In most cases your mediation will be complete within 3 two hour sessions. I prepare all paperwork and file everything with the Court. The entire process takes about one month.

I can assure you that the process is confidential and that I am absolutely neutral and impartial. I do not favor the Husband or the Wife. And I can assure you that your agreement will be fair to both parties.

So if all of this sounds like something which will work for you, please give it a try. You are the best people to decide how your life and family will be post-divorce. It is self-determination. You decide. Not a judge or someone else. It is fair, amicable, and costs a heck of a lot less than fighting in Court.

I welcome your questions and hope I can help.
